In the general news, France suffered a third major ISIS attack within 18-months as a mad man drove a large truck down the congested road of pedestrians celebrating Bastille Day, killing more than 80. In Turkey, the military staged a failed coup. In the U.S., Donald Trump announced Indiana senator Mike Pence as his VP.

In healthcare business news, IT company Imprivata (IMPR) was acquired by Thoma Bravo LLC.

From the FDA, Abbott’s (ABT) IOL was approved. In other regulatory matters, CMS moved forward with requiring serial numbers for medical devices to track safety.
