The Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center held a press day for its new teen lounge designed to help adolescent cancer patients cope better. This is the 10th such Teen Cancer facility opened in the United States. There are almost 30 of them in the U.K.
Teen Cancer started more than 20-years ago when Pete Townshend and Roger Daltrey of The Who, and their personal doctor, saw the need. “Pediatric” hospitals were for young kids and regular hospitals for for people too old.
